Michaela Geboltsberger is an art historian and curator specialising in contemporary art, society and politics. She has realized and managed numerous projects, including tranzit.at, was part of the curatorial team of the Kyiv Biennale 2015, organized exhibitions such as "What can be done? Practices of Solidarity”, an outdoor exhibition of contemporary art in the city of Traiskirchen, and co-curated the exhibition “Stopover - Ways of Temporary Exchange” in Vienna's Museumsquartier. In 2023, she was part of the team of the Kyiv Biennale in Vienna as managing director. She was also involved in several symposia, such as "Things we suspect each other of!" at the Volkskundemuseum in Vienna and "Whose Europe?", an international conference that took place in Yerevan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova. She also directed the project "The Empire Strikes Back? A Travelling Academy through the Post-Soviet Urban Landscape".
She is currently managing director and programme manager of IG Architektur and project manager of the “Focus International” residency and trainee programme.
